Beef Kaldereta is a Filipino food recipe commonly served during holiday season. It traditionally uses goat meat as the primary ingredient but beef, chicken or pork are can be used too. Now let me tell you how to prepare this delicious meal.
Ingredients
½cupvinegar
1cuptomato sauce
6whole peppercornscrushed
4clovesgarliccrushed
1small carrot,peeled and diced
4tablespoonsvegetable oil
1onionsliced
1 ½lbsstewing beefcut into 1 inch cubes
1bay leaf
2teaspoonssea salt
1teaspoonsugar
2cupswater,or more as needed
1red bell pepper,chopped into strips
1potato,peeled and diced
1teaspoonTabasco sauce or your favorite hot sauce
¼cupliver spread
½cupfrozen peas
Instructions
Heat the cooking oil in the cooking pot or pressure cooker.
Sauté the onion and garlic.
Put the beef. Cook for 5 minutes or until the color turns light brown.
Add the dried bay leaves and crushed pepper. Stir.
Add the liver spread. Mix.
Pour-in the tomato sauce and beef broth.
Cook the beef until it becomes tender (about 30 mins if using a pressure cooker, or 1 to 2 hours if using an ordinary pot).
Add potato and carrots. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
Put the green olives and bell peppers in the cooking pot. Stir and continue to cook for 5 minutes more.
